You can delete your Unbeen account and everything the app has sent to our server in two ways: in the app itself, or by email, even if you no longer have the app.

In the app

The path is the same on iPhone and Android.

  • "Delete account", if you signed in with Apple, Google or email: Settings → Privacy → Account → "Delete account". The same button is at the bottom of the "My data" screen. Type the word DELETE and confirm. Your account and everything of yours on our server are deleted right away. This cannot be undone.
  • "Delete everything on our side": Settings → Privacy → My data → "Delete everything on our side". Erases your data on our server — together with your account, if you signed in — and stops sending. Works without an account too.

Without the app

Email support@unbeen.app with the subject "Delete account".

  • Write from the email address your account is linked to. If you signed in with Google or Apple, write from the email of that Google or Apple account.
  • If you never signed in, or you are writing from another address, include your nickname from the app.

We delete everything within 30 days and reply by email once it is done. If we cannot tell whose account it is, we will ask. There is no form on the website, just email.

What is deleted

  • the account: your Apple, Google or email sign-in, your email and password hash at the Supabase sign-in service, and the key to your copy that we kept sealed;
  • the encrypted copies of your atlas;
  • walk numbers, level, experience, streak, achievements, purchases, statistics and the technical log;
  • your nickname, leaderboard row and avatar;
  • friends, group walks and challenges (in other people's, you are simply removed from the participants);
  • your Capture territory;
  • support requests with their contact, reports you filed, the notification log, your phone's notification address and your friend code.

What stays

On your phone everything stays: walks, notes, photos and videos. They live only there and are erased when you delete the app.

On our side very little stays, and only what the privacy policy names:

  • reports about you from other players and a moderator's hiding mark: they protect other players;
  • database backups kept in case of an outage, up to 12 months, and the archive made before a progress reset, up to 6 months: they are used only to recover from an outage and are deleted on schedule;
  • the anonymised walk map, if you had it on: counters without a player number, which cannot be linked to you.

Note photos and videos that earlier versions saved to your iCloud are held by Apple, not by us: iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage → Unbeen. An email address you left on the website for the launch announcement is removed by the link in any of our emails or by writing to support@unbeen.app.

Subscription

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription: the store renews it. On iPhone, cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions); the deletion screen has a "Manage subscription" button. If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel it there: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
